Nix Nature Center Hike in Laguna

Hiking is the best way to bond with others. Something about nature, the endorphins of exercise, and the fresh air really encourages connection. And there is no better place to hike than in the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park with your Cornell friends

Start Time: Arrive at the trailhead by 8:30 am, depart promptly at 8:45
Meeting Location: We will meet at the entrance to the Nix Nature Center (18751 Laguna Canyon Rd, Laguna Beach, CA 92651). There is a gravel parking lot. You will need to buy a $3 parking permit and display it on your dashboard.
The Nix Nature Center is worth visiting; the people who work there are more than eager to provide you with maps, inform you about upcoming events, and help you identify flora and fauna. Arrive early to stop inside, fill up water bottles, and use the restroom.
Distance: About 6 miles
Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours, at a leisurely pace
Route: "Moderate to Difficult - A few steep climbs, the warm California weather can make it even more so during hot days." Essentials: Shoes with good traction, Water, Snacks, Sun protection: sunblock, visor, hat, Camera
No dogs allowed
Lunch: After the hike, there will be an optional lunch at Urth Caffe (308 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651). It is about a 10 minute drive from the trailhead, and it offers a wide selection of high-quality food!
